About Us
Current Stars At the moment there are three of us in the band; Emily, Jim and myself - Ian.
Emily Fullerton
recently (in April 2001) joined the team, initially on keyboards, then switched to the drum kit (at least for live performances) when Julia left. Emily is also in Gaslight Radio and Her Red Shoes.James Dean, also of Tugboat fame, joined up as a replacement for Andrew (who was only filling in anyway) in June 2000. Jim also runs the St James Recordings label.
Ian Finlay. I've been with the band from the outset, when I joined up with Rod and Vicky. I mostly play guitar but have put a few other sounds on our records.
Old Stars
Vicky Barker
(on bass) and Rod McQueen (on guitars) were looking for a second guitarist to form a band way back in 1993. Vicky had placed an ad in a local music shop saying that they were interested in someone who was into bands such as The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Underground Lovers, Mazzy Star, My Bloody Valentine, etc. Even though they wanted a female guitarist, I decided to give them a call and the basis of the Super Falling Star was formed. After more than nine months of playing together both Vicky and Rod decided it was not the direction they wanted to go. We managed to persuade them to "come out of retirement" to record the Someday single as well as a few other tracks which made it onto subsequent releases. Rod currently plays with Steve Camden in The Bitter End.
| After searching unsuccessfully for a drummer for a couple of months, Julia Caluzzi offered to play drums for us and the initial line-up was settled. Julia has had her own bands such as Sealtractor and Sheltershed and currently sings with Vivid Ultramarine. Julia quit the band in June 2001. | ![]() |

Natasha Dragun sang for the band after Vicky left and appears on the Searchlight single plus a few other recordings. An accomplished violinist, Tasha has performed with a string quartet but she is not doing anything else at the moment. |
Steve Kinrade
has helped out on various records playing french horn and keyboards and played live with the band at the aforementioned Public Bar show. Steve has been in bands such as The Bird Dissolves and Clowns Smiling Backwards. He currently plays with David Hosking from time to time.Andrew Withycombe
reluctantly agreed to help out when we played a show at the Public Bar in Melbourne in 1998. Many of you may know Andrew from bands such as Hydroplane, the Cat's Miaow and Huon. Andrew probably pops up on some of the recordings - though I can't remember which....
So, sit back and enjoy the ride......
